Imagine a plate of Nando’s-inspired spicy rice right at your own dining table. I recently gave the Nando’s spicy rice dish a go, and the result? A magnificent replication of Nando’s famous spicy rice that left us craving for more. It was so morish and was so simple to make.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Cup of Quality Rice
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Golden Turmeric
- 400g of Tender Chicken Strips
- 1 Cup of Onions, Finely Diced
- 1 Cup of Red Peppers, Sliced
- 1/2 Cup of Fresh Peas
- 1/4 Cup
- 1/4 Cup of Nando’s Fiery Hot Sauce
- 7g of Portuguese Spice
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Of Pepper
- 2 1/2 Teaspoons Garlic Butter
- 1/4 Teaspoon Aromat
- 1/4 Cup of Refreshing Water
- 2 Tablespoons of Chopped Fresh Parsley
METHOD
- Begin by sprinkling your chicken strips with a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, and a touch of Portuguese spice.
- Transform your rice water into a golden colour by adding a hint of turmeric and a sprinkle of salt. Allow it to cook until it’s on the verge of perfection.
- In a pan, fry your chicken strips until golden brown. Once they are cooked remove them from the stove.
- In the same pan, add the garlic butter. Introduce the finely diced onions and let them cook until they are translucent.
- Introduce the vibrant red peppers and the tender peas. Sprinkle over aromat, allowing their flavours to intertwine.
- Now, for the – the Nando’s sauce. Choose your favourite flavour and add 1/4 cup of the sizzling sauce to the pan. Add a touch of water to the sauce vessel, swirling it to gather any excess sauce. Let the saucy medley simmer, allowing the flavours to mingle.
- Gently intertwine the rice with the saucy vegetables, allowing their flavours to intertwine. As they cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes, watch the masterpiece unfold.
- To add a touch of freshness and vibrancy, sprinkle in the chopped fresh parsley.
- Presenting: Top the Nando’s spicy rice with golden chicken brown chicken breasts and enjoy.
