I could indulge in Asian cuisine every day! Today, I’m sharing a versatile dish that can be crafted with various ingredients like steak, chicken, seafood, or even vegetables. It’s a quick and simple steak stir fry, featuring two classic Asian components and fresh aromatic elements. The best part? It’s ready in no time.
INGREDIENTS
- 200g Steak Strips
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 5g Thinly Sliced Ginger
- 3 Cloves Diced Garlic
- 1/2 large Onion, Thinly Sliced
- 1 Red Chilli
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 heaped tbsp Spring Onions
- Pepper
- Salt (optional)
METHOD
- Start by coating the steak strips with cornstarch.
- Heat a wok and add sesame oil or olive oil. Add the coated steak and cook until it turns slightly crispy and golden. Once cooked, remove it from the wok.
- In the same heated wok, add fresh diced garlic and thinly sliced ginger. Cook for about a minute to release their aromatic flavours, then add the sliced onions.
- Toss in the diced chilli, soy sauce, oyster sauce, a touch of sugar, and a bit of water.
- Mix everything and let the sauce thicken. Season with pepper and add spring onions. No need for extra salt as soy and oyster sauce are already salty. Salt is optional.
- Serve your Asian Steak Stir Fry with jasmine rice or egg fried rice and savour the flavours.
