INGREDIENTS
- 16 Chicken Wings
Dry Rub:
- 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
- 1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Salt
BBQ Sticky Sauce:
- 20g Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
- 1 teaspoon Crushed Garlic
- Smokey BBQ Sauce (to taste)
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees and prepare an oven tray.
- In a bowl, combine all the dry rub ingredients (excluding the salt). Sprinkle the mixture over the chicken wings, followed by 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of Ginger & Garlic. Mix well to ensure the wings are evenly coated, and finally, season with salt.
- Place the seasoned wings on the prepared oven tray and bake for 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chilli flakes, crushed garlic, and as much smokey BBQ sauce as you desire. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and create a delicious sticky sauce.
- Remove the chicken wings from the oven and generously pour the BBQ sticky sauce over them. Return the wings to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken and coat the wings.
- Once the wings are done, feel free to top them with extra sauce and garnish with spring onions for added flavor and visual appeal.
- Serve the sticky smokey BBQ wings as they are or alongside a side of ranch sauce or more smokey BBQ sauce for dipping and enjoy the finger-licking goodness!
