Finger-Licking Sticky Smokey BBQ Wing

INGREDIENTS

  • 16 Chicken Wings

Dry Rub:

  • 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

BBQ Sticky Sauce:

  • 20g Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Garlic
  • Smokey BBQ Sauce (to taste)

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees and prepare an oven tray.
  2. In a bowl, combine all the dry rub ingredients (excluding the salt). Sprinkle the mixture over the chicken wings, followed by 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of Ginger & Garlic. Mix well to ensure the wings are evenly coated, and finally, season with salt.
  3. Place the seasoned wings on the prepared oven tray and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chilli flakes, crushed garlic, and as much smokey BBQ sauce as you desire. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and create a delicious sticky sauce.
  5. Remove the chicken wings from the oven and generously pour the BBQ sticky sauce over them. Return the wings to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken and coat the wings.
  6. Once the wings are done, feel free to top them with extra sauce and garnish with spring onions for added flavor and visual appeal.
  7. Serve the sticky smokey BBQ wings as they are or alongside a side of ranch sauce or more smokey BBQ sauce for dipping and enjoy the finger-licking goodness!
