METHOD

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. In a heated pan, add the margarine or butter and allow it to melt and come to a boil.
  3. Stir in the fruit cake mix and let it soften for a few minutes.
  4. Add the condensed milk to the mixture and fill the empty can with boiling water, being careful not to touch the hot can.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool down completely.
  7. Gradually add the cake flour, baking powder, and bicarbonate of soda to the cooled mixture.
  8. Gently mix the ingredients until well combined. Avoid overmixing.
  9. Prepare your baking pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
  10. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  11. Decorate the cake with your choice of nuts, such as sliced almonds.
  12. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cake turns golden brown.
  13. To check if the cake is cooked through, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
  14. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely before serving.
